I've worked with several up-and-coming authors as they were publishing their novels. In some cases, they came to me prior to releasing their work to the public, in other cases, they came to me after realizing that there were mistakes in their manuscripts that they just couldn't see with their writer's eyes.

Here is what they have to say:

For copy-editing Rule of Fire by Autumn Birt:
I've gone through all of your edits and suggestions for Rule of Fire and just wanted to say you did an outstanding job! Thank you so much! You really clarified my language where it was needed and fixed a ton of typos that five rounds of personal editing didn't pick up. Wow.

For copy-editing Rewrite Redemption by J.H. Walker:
I was new to the young adult market when I connected with Kris. She was a wealth of information and always eager to share it, making observations that saved me from some real mistakes. You don’t know what you don’t know, right? Working with her was a breeze. Not only is she a genuinely nice person, but she really has a handle on the publishing world. She found all the mistakes in my manuscript that my “writer’s eyes” passed right over and pointed out inconsistencies that I missed. It’s pretty scary publishing your first book. But with Kris’s help, I’m feeling really good about it. Thanks, Kris. You rock!

For editorial review and proof reading Keystones by Alexander McKinney:
Love your changes. I'm definitely going to do a 'sarcasm search' to see if I can tone it down a bit. Your other suggestions or observations are also spot on. I will be incorporating them to the best of my ability.

For proof reading Taken by Charlotte Abel:
Thanks Kris! This would be a very different book if not for your guidance, support and editing. And I would have been castigated for my mis-use of compound words, typos, random Capitalization and misspelled words. Thank you so much for making me look smarter than I am ;-)

For proof reading Destiny Bewitched (Shadows of Destiny) by Leia Shaw:
Working with Kris has always been easy and pleasant. She's professional but flexible and very helpful in polishing my manuscript. And I appreciate that she works with my deadlines even if they're last minute.

For copy-editing Prepare by Geoffrey Germann:
I want to say I think your service is very high value. You made a lot of changes and suggestions for $250 and that helps a lot. Even from an objective angle, I counted a lot of real errors in the manuscript that you caught and I really needed to clean that up.

For proof reading Awakening the Nightmare (Symmetria) by Lanie Malone:
Thank you, Kris, for doing such a good job editing my book! Your comments and suggestions were spot-on, and really helped me clarify some things that I hadn't even realized were conflicting or vague. I will definitely be sending you more work in the future.

For copy-editing Osric's Wand: The Wand-Maker's Debate by Jack D. Albrecht Jr. and Ashley Delay:
Thank you so much Kris. Your eye for detail is incredible!  Ashley and I were laughing at ourselves through edits.  I can't believe that in an 80k book, you could find the two words of our most popular character that needed changed for his speaking patterns.  We spent months pouring over ever line Pebble spoke, and you found the only two we missed in under a week... Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was worth every dime we spent on it.

For copy-editing Beg for Mercy by Shannon Dermott:
I appreciate your help.  With two other people looking at it and not catching a few of the mistakes you caught, I'm grateful for the extra set of eyes.  Since my brain and my fingers don’t always understand each other while typing, every pair of eyes is needed.

For copy-editing Essence by Rachael McGillivary:
When I started writing my debut novel, Essence, I had no direction. And I thought I could get away with doing my own edits. It was only by chance that I heard about Kris and realized just how much more work my novel needed. She was fast, professional, and so sweet. Essence would have never been a reality without her. I will never choose another editor.

For copy-editing Shadowland by Christopher Gray:
Kris, Thanks so much for what looks like a lot of work, You did a fantastically thorough job and I'm thrilled. I'm really happy you could point a few of the more eccentric British terms to me. I have been through the Prologue so far and agree with nearly everything you have pointed out, you are definitely leaving me with a better book.

For copy-editing and cover design of Whisper by Thomas Wilson:
See this blog post Thomas wrote after receiving a full edit of his latest manuscript from Final-Edits.

For full editorial review of The Eyes of the Heart by Richard Hackett Jr.:
Kris was an absolute joy to work with. She was extremely professional yet personable, insightful yet flexible, my book needed some major work, yet she was on deadline and her work was outstanding. I loved her honesty and willingness to say the things that needed saying. She will continue to be my first choice for proofing and editing.

For proof reading Flight (The Crescent Chronicles) by Alyssa Rose Ivy:
Kris was wonderful to work with, and she gave me the extra confidence I needed before releasing Flight. Working quickly and with great communication, she went above and beyond what I expected from a proofreader. I will definitely be using Final-Edits again!
